Field Sales Consultant, Interior

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Field Sales Consultant (Interior) in Seabrook, NH. The consultant sells the company's exterior and interior products and services to customers, mainly by visiting customer homes and trade shows. Most of the time is spent travelling and away from a dedicated office, with sales calls, custom quotes and contract paperwork.

Key responsibilities

• Visit customers' homes to make sales calls, assess needs, recommend tailored products and present warranty and financing options
• Develop and negotiate customized price quotes, complete sales contracts and paperwork, and take measurements to meet installation specifications
• Solicit new customers inside assigned stores and at industry events such as Home Shows
• Build relationships with store management and associates, educate them on HDIS offerings and raise awareness of HDIS programs
• Attend sales and store team meetings to improve sales techniques and learn about product offerings

Required profile

• Able to work 18 years or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• High school diploma or GED; 1+ year of previous related work experience preferred
• Typical reporting line to a Sales Manager; no direct reports
• Overnight travel of about 5% of the time; must stand or walk continuously and lift moderate-weight items (8-20 pounds)

Preferred qualifications

• Prior in-home or virtual sales experience
• Prior home improvement industry experience
• Experience generating leads and computer and app skills (email, iPad, apps)

Pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington residents: $40,000 - $100,000.
