Field Inspector – 1099 Independent Contractor

About the role

Seek Now is looking for experienced 1099 independent contractors to conduct accurate home and commercial property inspections. As a Field Inspector you will climb roofs, capture detailed measurements, and provide impartial reports that help insurance adjusters and clients resolve claims quickly.

Key responsibilities

• Climb and inspect two‑story and steep roofs, using extension ladders and safety equipment.
• Measure, sketch, and calculate roof and room areas, documenting age, leaks, hail, wind damage and prior repairs.
• Enter photos, measurements and notes into Seek Now’s proprietary software via laptop or smartphone.
• Travel daily within a 100‑mile radius for scheduled inspections and longer trips to catastrophe zones when needed.
• Maintain professional safety standards and partner with the internal Seek Now team to resolve issues.

Required profile

• Comfortable working at heights and accessing any type of roof.
• Strong customer‑service mindset, able to make homeowners feel safe.
• Reliable transportation (truck, van or SUV) and ability to travel frequently.
• Self‑starter who can meet tight deadlines and work independently.
• Humility and teamwork orientation.

Required skills

• HAAG certification (or ability to obtain within first year).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Competent use of a laptop and smartphone for data entry and navigation.
• Roof measurement, sketching and area calculation.
