About the role
The Project Field Services Specialist provides on‑site technical assistance for testing, assembly, installation, preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting of Oceaneering Technologies equipment. Based in Hanover, MD, the role involves up to 20% domestic and overseas travel and occasional offshore assignments.
Key responsibilities
- Perform installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of electro‑mechanical and fiber‑optic subsea systems with minimal supervision.
- Assist in design reviews, generate design specifications, and red‑line drawing packages to reflect as‑built status.
- Conduct tolerance studies, design calculations, and root‑cause analyses to resolve technical problems.
- Prepare progress reports, cost estimates, and technical presentations for design and review meetings.
- Support limited‑scope projects, create or update maintenance manuals, documents, and drawings.
- Travel domestically and overseas, including sporadic offshore work requiring extended periods of limited communication.
Required profile
- 5–9 years of field operations experience with fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing of subsea electro‑mechanical systems.
- Current Top Secret security clearance (SCI clearance and CI polygraph desired).
- Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field or equivalent experience.
- Experience preparing progress reports, job completion estimates, and cost estimates.
Required skills
- Subsea & Seabed Warfare (SSW) engineering concepts.
- Electro‑mechanical systems, hydraulics, propulsion, manipulators, fiber‑optic and navigation equipment.
- Proficiency with ANSI Y14.5, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.2.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics/drawings.
