About the role

This Federal Work‑Study position supports the horticulture program at Gwinnett Technical College. Working under close supervision, you will help maintain campus landscapes, farms, and greenhouse areas while gaining hands‑on experience in horticultural practices.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform pest management, watering, and fertilization tasks.
  • Maintain seasonal color beds, mow, edge, blow, and clean up debris.
  • Assist with the culinary garden, pruning, and pressure washing.
  • Provide office support and student lifework assistance.

Required profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Eligible for Federal Work‑Study funds at Gwinnett Technical College and in good academic standing.
  • Ability to follow directions, work independently, and manage multiple tasks.

Required skills

    What we offer

    • Flexible schedule up to 19 hours per week, typically 9 am‑6 pm, Monday‑Thursday.
    • Hourly compensation of $13.50.
    • Experience in horticulture and exposure to state‑government operations.
