Federal Work Study – College Automotive Technology Worker

About the role

This Federal Work Study position supports the Automotive Technology department at the Henry Campus. You will assist students, instructors, and staff while gaining hands‑on experience in an automotive lab environment.

Key responsibilities

• Greet visitors, answer phone calls, and route inquiries courteously.
• Set up and maintain lab and classroom areas, ensuring equipment and materials are ready for classes.
• Enter automotive shop data, including vehicle type, repairs, owner information, and student work logs.
• Maintain a clean, orderly workspace and manage hand tools and lab supplies.
• Assist with lab projects and other duties as needed.

Required profile

• Knowledge of automotive terminology, repairs, tools, and vehicle makes/models.
• Familiarity with Microsoft software applications.
• Self‑starter with strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to bend, climb, lift up to 25 lb, and work in a lab environment.
