Adjunct Instructor – Nurse Aide

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to teach Nurse Aide courses. This position supports the development of skilled nursing assistants and contributes to the state’s healthcare workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans for credited technical/occupational courses.
• Evaluate student progress against curriculum objectives.
• Manage classroom supplies, equipment, and budget requests.
• Maintain program certification, accreditation, and state licensing documentation.
• Ensure safety and security standards in the training environment.
• Collaborate with students, staff, and other educators on instructional matters.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current Georgia Practical Nursing License.
• Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience.
• Ability to obtain a Train‑the‑Trainer certificate within 60 days if not already held.
• Bachelor of Science or Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution (preferred).
• Experience in long‑term care services and post‑secondary teaching.
• Active participation in professional organizations and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Blackboard Learning Management System.
• Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• General computer and job‑related software proficiency.
