Family Medicine Physician – Full‑Time Academic Position

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and the Louisiana State University Health Science Center‑Shreveport are seeking a full‑time academic Family Medicine physician. The position is at the Assistant or Associate Professor level and requires board certification or eligibility. The department emphasizes clinical care, education, research and professional development while serving a diverse community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide community‑based primary care in outpatient and/or inpatient settings
• Teach medical students, residents and fellows in clinical and pre‑clinical environments
• Participate in academic activities, including research and scholarship opportunities
• Engage in population‑health initiatives and collaborative care models

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
• Eligibility for active Louisiana medical licensure
• Graduating Family Medicine residents are encouraged to apply
