Fabrication Technician / Warehouse Associate

About the role

McCarty Equipment, a SunSource company, is seeking a versatile Fabrication Technician/Warehouse Associate to support multiple shop areas including gasket, hose, mechanical seal, cylinder repair, and conveyor belting. The role involves using various tools to measure, cut, and fabricate gaskets and hoses while working under close supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in inventory cycle counts, tagging, stacking, sorting and keeping stock organized.
• Clean equipment and shop areas, follow lean activities and safety regulations, and suggest continuous‑improvement ideas.
• Operate soft gasket press, circle cutter, Allpax cutter, shears, paint gaskets, and punch‑press machines with dies.
• Assist the hose department with banding, crimping, rolling, cutting, and testing hoses.
• Support the mechanical‑seal department with disassembly, cleaning, bead‑blasting, and packing/shipping of seals.
• Help shipping by packing, receiving items and building crates.
• Operate a forklift after certification and regularly use a tape measure.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; 1 year of industrial shop experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and ability to perform simple math calculations.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb regularly.

Required skills

• Experience with soft gasket press, circle cutter, Allpax cutter, shears, and punch‑press machines.
• Proficiency using a tape measure and performing basic measurements.
• Forklift operation (certification required).
• Basic computer literacy.
