Excavator Operator – Heavy Civil Construction

About the role

We are looking for a skilled and safety‑focused Excavator Operator to join our heavy civil construction team in Raleigh, NC. You will operate excavators to perform excavation, grading, and site‑preparation tasks that support a variety of construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Operate excavators safely and efficiently to meet production targets.
• Perform routine equipment inspections, safety walk‑arounds, and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain equipment in good condition and log any maintenance needs.
• Complete required paperwork, reports, and documentation.
• Adhere to all company and site‑specific policies and procedures.
• Assist with other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum two (2) years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of safe and productive operation of equipment such as Caterpillar and Komatsu models.
• Ability to climb in and out of equipment unassisted.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Physical ability to lift 20 lb regularly and up to 50 lb occasionally.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across the southeastern U.S. and work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
