Event & Community Manager (Founding Role)

About the role

We are looking for an Event & Community Manager to build and lead our events and community function from the ground up. In this founding position you will shape how Nectar Social connects with customers, prospects and industry partners through both live experiences and digital gatherings.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and iterate on the full event calendar, including customer dinners, executive roundtables, happy hours, webinars and conference booths.
• Manage budgets, vendors, venues and logistics while creating repeatable processes for scalable growth.
• Partner with sales and customer success to design event strategies that generate pipeline and deepen existing relationships.
• Track and report event ROI – attendance, pipeline influence and customer sentiment – and use data to refine future programming.
• Represent Nectar at industry conferences, overseeing on‑site logistics, staffing and sponsor deliverables.
• Design and launch the first customer/industry community program (e.g., Slack or Discord, ambassador program or customer council).
• Develop a content and engagement cadence for the community, including AMAs, office hours, member spotlights and peer‑to‑peer discussions.
• Serve as the primary liaison for community members, cultivating authentic relationships and identifying advocates for case studies and referrals.

Required profile

• Proven experience planning and executing B2B events of various formats.
• Demonstrated ability to build and nurture professional communities.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams such as marketing, sales, and product.
• Data‑driven mindset with experience measuring event impact and community health.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
