Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

About the role

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist ensures that the company complies with its health, safety and environmental plans across construction sites. You will develop site‑specific plans, conduct regular inspections, and work closely with project teams to continuously improve safety performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead safety program activities, train team members and foster a robust safety culture.
• Develop, implement and enforce safety management systems, policies and procedures in line with OSHA requirements.
• Conduct on‑site safety and environmental reviews to verify compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Investigate accidents/incidents, recommend corrective actions and track implementation.
• Maintain organized compliance records and ensure all permits, licenses and approvals are current.
• Provide technical safety and health support to project teams and maintain a visible field presence.
• Participate in and sometimes lead monthly safety committee meetings.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with all employees and management levels.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Independent worker who can also thrive in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel 10‑50% to various job sites.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• OSHA 30‑hour Construction Safety certification (required).
• OSHA 500 certification or ability to obtain it.
• First Aid/CPR training.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
