Environmental Compliance Specialist (Levels 1-3)

About the role

Under supervision, you will evaluate programs for compliance with environmental laws, rules, and regulations, and recommend monitoring, corrective, and enforcement actions. The position is part of a continuous recruitment pool assigned to the Tradeport Office in Atlanta, GA.

Key responsibilities

• Collect environmental samples following established procedures.
• Investigate complaints and provide technical assistance.
• Conduct inspections, interviews, and technical reviews of facilities.
• Recommend enforcement actions as needed.
• Perform facility audits and review permit applications against regulatory requirements.
• Draft correspondence, permits, and other documentation in accordance with rules.
• Travel for field work, including occasional overnight assignments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Geology, or a closely related field.
• For Level 2: two years of professional experience in environmental protection, or one year at Level 1.
• For Level 3: three years of professional experience in environmental protection, or one year at Level 2.
