Enterprise Staff UX Designer

About the role

The Home Depot is looking for a service-design focused UX Designer to join its User Experience team. The role turns complex enterprise operations into intuitive, effective experiences, partnering with product managers, software engineers, researchers, data scientists and business stakeholders to design end-to-end experiences for associates and customers. It is a hands-on, collaborative position reporting to the User Experience Manager, with no direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Coaching and mentoring (about 15%): lead interview exercises, assess candidate fit, coach junior resources and mentor them on career development.
• Delivery and execution (about 45%): provide UX design artifacts, test usability of assigned products, lead data collection and synthesis, drive delivery in the product area and oversee other designers.
• Planning and strategy (about 40%): communicate the value of UX, drive UX practice across products, combine user research with partner OGSMs to set vision, and align multiple experiences in a domain.
• Other duties: develop service blueprints, journey maps, workflows, prototypes and experience frameworks; facilitate stakeholder alignment; ensure consistency and quality control across design work; support the manager and attend team ceremonies as backup.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Preferred: 7-9 years of UX experience in an enterprise or retail environment, or a related degree; 7-9 years of experience with agile software development teams.
• Ability to self-manage complex projects, bring multiple efforts into a cohesive end-to-end experience, and teach, lead or mentor junior contributors.
• Minimum education: bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field; minimum 5 years of work experience preferred.
