Engineering Manager, Platform & AI Systems

About the role

We are seeking an articulate, people‑oriented Engineering Manager to lead a high‑velocity team building our Platform & AI Systems. You will act as a peer‑leader, coding alongside developers while guiding architecture and strategy for next‑generation payment experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Drive Velocity & AI Standards by establishing frameworks for secure, stable AI‑generated code.
• Modernize Core APIs, transitioning to token‑based, scoped access.
• Scale payment experiences, integrating Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo and other digital wallets.
• Own Platform & AI continuity across repositories, deployments, billing and vendor integrations.
• Enforce security and compliance (SOC 2, PCI‑DSS) with robust tenant isolation and auditability.
• Mentor and lead the engineering culture, partnering with executive leadership on trade‑offs and timelines.
• Build, prototype and improve production‑grade AI solutions and evaluate emerging tooling.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software engineering experience designing scalable distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong business acumen to translate payment strategy into engineering execution.
• Hands‑on experience with LLMs and AI‑assisted development tools.
• 3+ years of direct engineering management or tech‑lead experience.
• Deep background in high‑scale FinTech, Payments or Billing with compliance focus.
• Residence within the Utah corridor (Logan‑Provo) to support hybrid work.
