About the role

The Endoscopy Technician provides essential support during gastrointestinal procedures, ensuring equipment is clean, functional, and ready for use. This PRN position works within Ochsner's Baton Rouge Endoscopy department, contributing to high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures.
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain endoscopes while following quality‑control standards.
  • Maintain all related equipment and supplies.
  • Adapt to changing workflow and provide effective patient care.

Required profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred: Experience with endoscopic procedures and certifications such as Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) or Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) within two years of hire.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication for interacting with patients and staff.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
