Elevator Service Mechanic – Rochester, MN / La Crosse, WI

About the role

KONE is seeking an Elevator Service Mechanic to work in the Rochester, MN and La Crosse, WI territory. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing elevators and escalators while ensuring safety and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full‑cycle elevator maintenance, troubleshooting major components such as rails, pits, hoist‑way equipment, car and counterweight assemblies, and machine‑room gear.
• Manually wire and install smaller elevator parts, including roller guides, door tracks, linkages, hall buttons, and lanterns, requiring accurate color‑coded wiring identification.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, general contractors, and consultants to keep projects on schedule and report progress to supervisors.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety standards and company policies to protect yourself and others on site.

Required profile

• Clear written and verbal communication skills for internal and external interactions.
• High concentration and attention to detail while intermittently wiring, installing, and maintaining equipment.
• Physical ability to walk/stand most of the time, lift up to 100 lb, and perform repetitive stooping, bending, and crouching.

Required skills

• Elevator component troubleshooting.
• Electrical wiring and installation of mechanical parts.
• Interpretation of technical documents and schematics.
• Proficient use of hand and power tools.
