Electrician – Hospital Facilities

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a skilled Electrician to maintain and repair electrical systems across its hospital facilities. The role involves ensuring safe, reliable operation of critical infrastructure such as lighting, nurse call, fire alarm, and backup power systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of wiring, lighting, nurse call, fire alarm, pneumatic tube, intercom and related electrical components.
• Troubleshoot hazards or malfunctions, replace damaged parts, and ensure system integrity through regular inspections and labeling.
• Conduct testing and inspections of emergency backup systems in compliance with NFPA and The Joint Commission, maintaining accurate records.
• Respond to trouble calls, work requests, and emergency situations promptly.
• Perform minor maintenance on plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and general facilities as needed.
• Utilize the CMMS work order system to document time and completion of tasks.
• Maintain inventory of parts and acquire supplies required for repairs.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED or Technical School Diploma in a related field.
• 3 years of experience as a commercial electrician (or less than 1 year with a technical diploma).
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety regulations.
• Experience with wiring, lighting, nurse‑call, fire‑alarm, pneumatic‑tube, and intercom systems.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment testing.
• Familiarity with CMMS work order software.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and inventory control.
