Electrical Manager – High Voltage (100% Travel)

About the role

The Electrical Manager will coordinate planning for contractors and craft activities on utility‑scale solar sites, ensuring high‑quality electrical installations. The role involves close interaction with engineering, site management, and owners to deliver projects on schedule and to specification.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee installation of underground cabling, module‑to‑module wiring, combiner box terminations, and DC collection systems.
• Review drawings, constructability, and submittals with the engineering team, confirming material and workmanship quality.
• Collaborate with Site Manager and owner’s Project Manager on schedule updates and power‑grid connection interfaces.
• Supervise contractor performance, monitor safety, quality, and efficiency, and ensure compliance with LOTO procedures.
• Maintain relationships with customers, contractors, and site visitors, and provide logistical recommendations for improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in electrical installation and testing.
• At least 3 years experience in renewable energy (wind, solar, battery) projects.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel 100 % of the time.

Required skills

• DC and medium‑voltage cable installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair.
• Testing methods: current injection, hi‑pot, capacitance discharge, contact resistance, Megger, TTR, Doble.
• Interpretation of electrical drawings, sketches, underground duct banks, trenching, manholes, and vaults.
• Knowledge of pad‑mount transformers, SCADA systems, and LOTO safety procedures.
