Electrical Maintenance Technician

About the role

IKO Industries Ltd., a manufacturer of roofing and building materials, is hiring an Electrical Maintenance Technician for its IKO Glass Fiber Inc. facility in Chester, South Carolina. The position is within the Maintenance department and is listed as full time.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, test and maintain electrical systems, equipment and machinery.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance to identify and address potential problems.
• Repair and replace electrical components and systems in line with safety standards and regulations.
• Install and upgrade electrical systems and equipment as needed.
• Diagnose electrical problems using testing equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance, inspections and repairs.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers and other technicians, and ensure equipment meets safety and regulatory standards.
• Follow safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical maintenance preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to work in a team, with initiative, attention to detail and accuracy.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency calls when necessary.
• Background and drug test required; minimal travel.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulations and safety protocols.
