Mechanical Technician

About the role

IKO Industries Ltd., a Canadian-owned manufacturer of roofing and building materials, is hiring a Mechanical Technician for its Fiberglass Mat Plant in Chester, South Carolina. The role sits within the maintenance and engineering department and aims to safely maximize plant performance and run time.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, adjust, maintain and repair manufacturing equipment and machinery throughout the production facility
• Keep the plant running safely and efficiently

Required profile

• Able to work flexible, rotating production shifts of 8, 10 or 12 hours
• Minimum 2 years' experience in heavy-industrial manufacturing or construction preferred
• Minimum 1 year of proven forklift operating experience preferred
• Comfortable working in a dusty environment, walking and/or standing 90% of the shift, and performing heavy lifting up to 50 pounds routinely
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
• Fluent in verbal and written English, with good communication skills and ability to follow specific instructions
