Electrical Engineer P.E. (Option to Underfill)

About the role

The Water District seeks a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Electrical Engineering to support capital construction, maintenance, and asset management projects. The role involves design, research, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems for water treatment and transmission.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex engineering work for electrical and instrumentation elements of capital and maintenance projects.
• Provide engineering support to trade shop personnel for diagnosing and resolving system malfunctions.
• Prepare and review multi‑discipline engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Communicate technical concepts to non‑technical staff and collaborate with maintenance shop personnel.

Required profile

• Graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
• At least three years of progressive professional electrical engineering experience, preferably in a water utility.
• Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Nevada.
• Valid Nevada driver’s license and ability to maintain vehicle insurance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of pumps, valves, motors, actuators, motor control centers (MCC) and protection relays.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD for engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code, IEEE standards, and relevant testing standards.
• Understanding of water utility equipment and processes.
