About the role
Zeno Power is developing compact nuclear batteries (radioisotope power systems) for frontier missions on Earth, in space and at sea. The Electrical Engineer will join the Test & Process Engineering team in Seattle, reporting to the Test & Process Engineering Manager, and will help design, test and manufacture the electrical subsystems that power these missions.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with mechanical, structural, thermal and nuclear teams to integrate electrical designs into system requirements.
- Lead the design, implementation and optimisation of complex control systems for both R&D and production environments.
- Review and develop designs for power distribution, power conversion, battery systems and data communication.
- Design and build test racks, including data‑acquisition hardware, power supplies, communications, sensors and grounding schemes.
- Create and maintain specifications, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, test plans, procedures and test reports.
- Provide subject‑matter‑expert review of supplier designs, fabrication activities and testing.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support project milestones.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design, control systems or power electronics.
- Proficiency with control, diagram and harness design tools such as LTspice, Altium, LabVIEW or SolidWorks.
- Hands‑on experience with standard electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, etc.).
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced startup environment and across multidisciplinary teams.
