Systems Engineer – Radioisotope Power Systems

About the role

Zeno Power is seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to support the development and market introduction of Radioisotope Power System (RPS) technologies. The position reports to the Engineering Manager, Systems Engineering and works from the Seattle office.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee design processes and tools for RPS and facility design, including tracking design documentation and technical requirements.
• Create and manage system, subsystem, and component requirements, as well as artifacts such as Concepts of Operations, Interface Control Documents, and design specifications.
• Coordinate cross‑functional product design, fabrication, and test teams across geographically distributed Zeno locations, national laboratories, and subcontractors.
• Apply Systems Engineering methodology to RPS systems, test equipment, tooling, and integrated systems.
• Develop integration and test plans, verify regulatory and code compliance, and track requirements to closure through verification.
• Assist in schedule planning, generate design packages, and perform trade studies throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• B.S. or higher in an engineering discipline from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of experience in system design and integration, preferably in aerospace or nuclear environments.
• Experience with quality standards such as NQA‑1 or AS‑9100.
• Proven ability to coordinate work across multiple stakeholders and meet deadlines under pressure.
