EEG Technician – Clinical Neurodiagnostic Specialist

About the role

The EEG Technician provides routine electo‑neurodiagnostic testing, including EEG, evoked potentials and specialized studies. Working in a clinical setting, the technician prepares patients, collects data for interpretation and assists medical staff with complex recordings.

Key responsibilities

• Gather comprehensive patient history, including neurological symptoms and medications.
• Prepare and apply EEG electrodes while following infection‑control procedures.
• Conduct EEG, evoked potentials and other neurodiagnostic studies, monitoring for artifacts and ensuring data quality.
• Respond to patient emergencies and maintain safety throughout procedures.
• Document findings, retrieve and enter data using neurodiagnostic software.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or accredited END program preferred.
• Minimum three years of clinical neurodiagnostic experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; eligibility for Neurodiagnostic Technology certification preferred.

Required skills

• Data entry and retrieval using Windows‑based applications.
• Proficiency with neurodiagnostic software specific to EEG and evoked potentials.
• Operation and troubleshooting of EEG equipment.
