About the role
The International Rescue Committee’s Education & Youth Services (EYS) program is seeking a Summer 2026 Intern to support refugee middle‑ and high‑school students in Louisville. This unpaid position offers hands‑on experience in program coordination, tutoring, and cultural integration activities.
Key responsibilities
- Provide academic assistance, including tutoring and homework help, for after‑school programs.
- Assist in planning and delivering enrichment activities that promote cultural integration and social development.
- Coordinate transportation logistics for students attending after‑school sessions.
- Support the organization of educational outings and community‑building events.
- Facilitate communication between students, families, and school staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by EYS staff.
Required profile
- Current undergraduate or graduate student, or less than 12 months post‑graduation, preferably studying Education, Social Work, or a related field.
- U.S. citizenship or valid work authorization (the IRC does not sponsor visas).
- Access to reliable personal transportation; the internship does not provide transportation or housing.
