Education Abroad Advisor I – Student Support Role

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Education Abroad Advisor I to support students, staff, and faculty in navigating global education opportunities at Texas A&M University. The role involves advising on transfer credit programs, coordinating with partners, and promoting study abroad experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualized advising on academic, financial, health, travel, and cultural aspects of study abroad and transfer credit programs.
• Maintain program records, databases, and administrative processes, including orientation, pre‑departure, and returnee programming.
• Represent the office at outreach events, develop partnerships, and support recruitment campaigns to increase student participation.
• Serve on committees, support continuous‑improvement initiatives, and act as a Passport Acceptance Agent.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; no prior experience required.
• Experience living, working, or studying abroad and working with diverse student populations is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to multitask in a collaborative environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with word processing applications.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet software.
• Experience using database applications.
