About the role

The ECP Product Development Engineering Co‑op will join a cross‑functional team developing next‑generation heart pump and vascular access technologies in Danvers, MA. This hands‑on position focuses on designing, building, and evaluating medical device components and test fixtures.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute bench testing, including feasibility, characterization, simulated‑use, and design verification of device components.
• Develop and improve test methods by defining procedures, selecting equipment, designing fixtures, and assessing measurement repeatability.
• Create and iterate mechanical designs for components and test fixtures using 3D CAD, and support prototype fabrication via 3D printing or machining.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret test data, summarize results, identify trends or failure modes, and present recommendations.
• Document test procedures, experimental results, and engineering conclusions in technical reports and presentations.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and enthusiasm for hands‑on laboratory work and troubleshooting hardware.
• Foundational knowledge of mechanical design, engineering mechanics, experimental methods, and data analysis.
• Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship.

Required skills

• Experience with 3D CAD software; SOLIDWORKS preferred.
• Ability to organize and analyze data using Microsoft Excel.
