About the role

The State of Georgia, through Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, seeks an Economics Instructor to teach on the Valdosta campus and partner high schools. This full‑time position offers the chance to shape the economic understanding of diverse students while contributing to the college’s mission of equity and community impact.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver economics courses in classroom and online formats for credit‑bearing arts and sciences programs.
• Develop lesson plans, curricula, syllabi, and assessment tools aligned with program goals.
• Maintain accurate documentation, administrative reports, and student progress records.
• Participate in professional development, workshops, and conferences to stay current in the field.
• Collaborate with students, staff, and other educators on instructional programs and student support.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Economics or a related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Economics.
• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
• Commitment to supporting underrepresented, minority, and disabled student populations.
• Ability to meet safety, security, and professional standards of the institution.
