Early Head Start Teacher – Senath, MO

About the role

The Early Head Start (EHS) Teacher provides a safe, supervised, and educational environment for children in the Head Start/Early Head Start program. The role includes classroom instruction, outdoor play supervision, and field trips while fostering strong parent involvement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver curriculum that meets Head Start/Early Head Start School Readiness goals and federal performance standards.
• Maintain a safe and supportive classroom and outdoor environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
• Coordinate parent involvement activities and communication.
• Conduct field trips and ensure child safety during all outings.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED plus Infant/Toddler CDA credential (or obtain within 3 months); or Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education as specified for Head Start teachers.
• Classroom teaching experience with infants/toddlers (0‑2) or preschoolers (3‑5), preferably two years, including adapting curriculum for diverse needs.

Required skills

• Strong written and verbal communication; bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including internet and email use.
• Valid Missouri driver’s license, personal vehicle for home visits, and Pediatric CPR & First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
