Early Childhood Development Specialist

About the role

The Early Childhood Development Specialist (ECDS) will join the Kids First team in Fort Smith, AR, providing individualized developmental services to young children with special healthcare needs. The role supports the academic mission of the Kids First program and ensures high‑quality care.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure quality of individualized developmental services provided at Kids First.
• Support the academic mission of the Kids First program.
• Administer standardized developmental testing instruments.
• Build relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with a relevant certificate (Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education, Child Development Associate, or Birth‑to‑Pre‑K Credential).
• Documentation of 12 hours of coursework in Early Childhood, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Child and Family Studies.
• At least six months documented experience working with children.
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of developmental milestones for birth‑to‑five population.
