Distribution Center Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Distribution Center (DC) Maintenance Supervisor in Baltimore. The supervisor is responsible for the success of assigned functions in a complex distribution center, working with the Maintenance Manager to set strategies that maximize productivity and leverage expenses. They manage and oversee equipment and facility maintenance, analyze trends and solve problems, and typically lead a team of seven direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Coach, train and develop associates through formal and informal programs, give performance-based feedback, ensure technical certifications are achieved and sustained, and maintain a union-free workplace.
• Ensure a safety culture by following safety policies, monitoring safety and physical security, and inspecting equipment and facilities regularly.
• Manage facility repair, maintenance and installation, source and review contractor bids, select contractors and ensure they meet safety, schedule, budget and quality standards.
• Review maintenance, production and quality control reports and statistics, and recommend and implement cost-effective, safety-compliant changes to facility and equipment.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Associate's degree or equivalent in a related field, or preferred: bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 2 years of work experience minimum, preferred 3 years; preferred 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Typical working conditions include temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise and fumes, and intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion such as lifting material or equipment.
• Overnight travel of 5% to 20% of the time.

Required skills

• Preferred: working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Preferred: demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and a degree in Facilities Management or previous change management experience.

Pay range for residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington: $65,000 - $85,000.
