Distribution Center Maintenance Manager

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a DC Maintenance Manager for a distribution center in Dallas. The manager is responsible for the success of assigned functions in a complex distribution center environment, working with the General Manager or Assistant General Manager to set strategies that maximize productivity and leverage expenses. The role manages and oversees equipment and facility maintenance, solves problems and typically leads a team of direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure operational excellence across warehouse areas, including warehouse management systems and equipment, efficient and safe receipt and processing of inventory, and proper layout and organization of the warehouse
• Manage facility repair, maintenance and installation of equipment, review contractor bids and select contractors who meet safety, schedule, budget and quality standards
• Review maintenance, production and quality control reports, recommend and implement cost-effective, safety-compliant changes to facility and equipment
• Maintain a safety culture, monitor physical security and inspect equipment and facilities regularly
• Coach, train and evaluate associates, ensure technical certifications are maintained and keep the workplace union-free

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• High school diploma or GED
• Preferred: bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business or Supply Chain, 5 years in a distribution environment, experience managing conveyor systems, material handling equipment and electrical PLC controls, and change management experience
• Ability to work flexible hours, be on call, work weekends and holidays, and open to relocation

Required skills

• Preferred: proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• Preferred: ability to manage a department or functional group through subordinate supervisors and handle personnel issues
