Director of Security and Safety

About the role

The Director of Security and Safety leads daily security and loss‑prevention operations, protecting property, employees, guests and assets while ensuring a safe environment across the resort.

Key responsibilities

• Manage security staff, conduct patrols, and oversee emergency procedures and incident investigations.
• Maintain logs, certifications and required documentation, and ensure compliance with corporate loss‑prevention guidelines.
• Resolve guest and employee complaints, handle disputes, and provide medical or emotional support as needed.
• Develop and deliver training, mentor team members, and recognize performance achievements.
• Collaborate with local law‑enforcement authorities and keep executives informed of security matters.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED with 4 years security experience, or an associate degree in Criminal Justice with 2 years experience.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage risk, and improve guest and employee satisfaction.
• Strong communication, conflict‑resolution and coaching skills.

Required skills

• First aid and CPR certifications for loss‑prevention officers.
