Director of Sales

About the role

The Director of Sales will lead the hotel’s sales department, driving revenue growth across rooms, group bookings, events and ancillary services. Reporting to senior management, you will shape strategic sales plans, nurture key client relationships and ensure the team delivers on business development targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve or exceed revenue goals.
• Identify new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with corporations, travel agencies and group clients.
• Lead, train and motivate the sales team, setting clear performance expectations.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activity and guest feedback to adjust tactics.
• Collaborate with marketing, revenue management and operations for cohesive sales initiatives.
• Represent the hotel at trade shows, networking events and industry conferences.
• Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts and reports for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with brand standards and company sales policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, Business Administration, Marketing or related field; MBA preferred.
• 5–7 years of progressive sales experience in the hospitality industry, including at least 2 years in a senior sales leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of hotel revenue management principles and sales techniques.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation and presentation abilities.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to walk/stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to travel for sales calls, client meetings and industry events, including overnight trips.

Required skills

• Proficiency with sales CRM software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite.
