Director of Outcomes and Assessments

About the role

The School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore seeks a strategic leader to design, implement, and continuously improve its programmatic outcomes assessment system. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs, the Director will shape the school’s assessment strategy, ensuring alignment with AVMA COE accreditation standards and evidence‑based curricular enhancement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Office of Academic Affairs in developing and executing a comprehensive outcomes assessment framework.
• Oversee collection, management, analysis, and reporting of student and programmatic data.
• Ensure assessment practices meet AVMA COE accreditation requirements, particularly Standard 11 (Outcomes Assessment).
• Translate assessment findings into actionable recommendations for faculty, curriculum leaders, and administration.
• Support accreditation readiness activities, including self‑study preparation and compliance monitoring.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in academic assessment or institutional effectiveness.
• Familiarity with AVMA COE accreditation standards and higher‑education accreditation processes.
• Strong ability to collaborate with faculty, curriculum committees, and senior administrators.
• Experience managing large data sets and producing clear, actionable reports.
