Director of Finance

About the role

Camelback Ventures seeks an experienced nonprofit finance leader to shape financial strategy, manage systems, and ensure long‑term sustainability. The role blends high‑level advisory to the CEO, leadership team and board with hands‑on execution of budgeting, reporting and compliance. It is a fully remote position based in the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow planning, scenario modeling and financial reporting.
• Oversee accounting operations, monthly close, reconciliations, payroll and external investment portfolio.
• Manage grant financials, including budgets, compliance, funder reporting and revenue accounting.
• Develop and maintain finance systems, policies, controls and external partnerships (banking, audit, tax, investment advisors).

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of nonprofit finance leadership experience at the Controller level or above.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in nonprofit accounting, restricted contributions, earned revenue, grant management and audit compliance (Form 990).
• Proven ability to advise CEOs, boards and senior leaders and communicate complex financial information clearly.
• Experience supervising finance staff and managing external service providers.

• Salary $130,000–$150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
