Director of Finance

About the role

The Director of Finance will shape and execute the firm’s financial strategy, supporting rapid growth while ensuring long‑term sustainability. Reporting to the COO, this senior leader will act as a trusted advisor to the executive team and firm partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategy aligned with organizational priorities.
• Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, long‑term planning and scenario modeling.
• Build integrated financial models linking contract volume, client deposits, collections, revenue recognition, staffing, marketing spend and operating costs.
• Analyze financial performance by practice area, case type, department, office and other dimensions.
• Oversee month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and intercompany activity.
• Prepare income statements, balance sheets, cash‑flow statements and executive financial packages.
• Maintain and improve chart of accounts, cost centers, reporting hierarchy and accounting policies.
• Coordinate year‑end activities with external auditors, tax advisors and banking partners.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leadership experience, preferably in a professional services or law‑firm environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting financial insights to non‑financial stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple entities, departments and geographic locations.
