Director of Engineering

About the role

PactFi is building a secure, end‑to‑end platform for private credit transactions and is scaling rapidly beyond its Series A round. We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead high‑performing teams, introduce scalable processes, and embed an AI‑first mindset across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of critical product initiatives across multiple engineering teams.
• Introduce the right level of structure and delivery metrics (predictability, cycle time, throughput) while maintaining speed.
• Build and evolve team structures, hire and develop Engineering Managers and senior engineers, and define clear ownership boundaries.
• Drive adoption of AI‑assisted development tools and establish best practices for safe, effective AI usage.
• Partner closely with Product, Design, and senior technical leadership to translate priorities into actionable roadmaps.
• Ensure strong engineering fundamentals such as testing, reliability, and production readiness.

Required profile

• Proven experience scaling engineering organizations in high‑growth, venture‑backed environments.
• Track record of leading multiple teams through predictable, high‑quality delivery.
• Ability to balance speed, scope, and quality while introducing scalable processes.
• Strong coaching skills to develop emerging leaders and elevate management capabilities.
• Experience fostering an AI‑first culture and evaluating AI tooling for measurable impact.
