Director of Analytics & Strategy

About the role

The Director of Analytics & Strategy leads reporting, visualizations, data mining and analysis to drive decision‑making across revenue generation, forecasting, lead scoring and data systems integration. The role supports business units and partners such as the Houston Rockets, Houston Comets and Toyota Center.

Key responsibilities

• Create and implement data display, distribution, measurement and forecasting for stakeholders.
• Consult proactively with departments and the executive team on deep‑dive analyses.
• Partner with the SVP of Performance Marketing & Business Intelligence on revenue strategy, including rate‑card valuation, dynamic pricing, inventory management and paid‑media impact.
• Lead sales forecasting, lead scoring, market‑penetration modeling and other predictive‑modeling initiatives.
• Oversee data‑visualization strategy and maintain a user‑friendly library of data resources.
• Design programs to source, track and retain fan behavior, engagement and loyalty.
• Collaborate with Engineering & Innovation on data‑warehouse automation and source integrations.
• Develop and execute market‑research and consumer‑insights strategies.
• Work with Lifecycle Marketing on database growth, nurturing and conversion.
• Provide actionable recommendations to business leaders based on data insights.
• Coordinate league‑wide analytics initiatives with the NBA and WNBA.
• Guide, train and develop team members while optimizing performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, Economics or a related field.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in strategy, analytics or a related discipline.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data insights into strategy.
• Knowledge of predictive‑modeling techniques such as regression analysis, customer profiling, segmentation, needs analysis and financial modeling.
• Critical thinker capable of solving complex problems.
