Director of AI Engineering

About the role

Parachute Health is looking for a hands‑on Director of AI Engineering to build AI‑native systems that eliminate operational waste across the company. You will design, develop, and deploy production‑grade AI solutions while leading a small engineering pod.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, harden and deploy end‑to‑end AI solutions, from problem scoping to production code and handoff.
• Own the AI automation roadmap, identifying high‑leverage automation opportunities in internal operations.
• Lead a pod of 2‑4 engineers as a player‑coach, setting code‑quality standards and maintaining rapid delivery cadence.
• Conduct discovery with business teams, map workflows, and turn the highest‑impact problems into AI‑first processes.
• Scout and influence tooling decisions, recommending models, orchestration frameworks, and agent toolkits that fit operational challenges.

Required profile

• Strong software‑engineering foundation with experience in system design, APIs, data flow, and the full software development lifecycle.
• Hands‑on expertise in agentic AI, including Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, vector databases, and LLM orchestration.
• Experience with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent, and voice‑agent infrastructure.
