About the role
The Director of Academic Advising leads the advising, retention, and graduation initiatives for undergraduate and graduate students within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, this senior position collaborates with college leadership to enhance advising programs and support student success.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain academic advising standards for the college.
- Oversee all advising centers and supervise lead advisors.
- Hire, train, and mentor academic advising staff.
- Coordinate new student conferences and track advising outcomes each semester.
- Implement best practices to improve retention and graduation rates for both undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Collaborate with the Director of Student Success to align advising activities with broader student success objectives.
Required profile
- Proven experience in academic advising leadership within a higher‑education setting.
- Strong understanding of undergraduate and graduate advising processes.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop staff.
- Excellent collaboration skills with college administrators and student services.
