Director, Global Surgical Communications

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Director to lead Global Surgical Communications for its Surgical Franchise. Based in Fort Worth, TX, the role will shape internal and external messaging that supports product launches, business development and crisis management across the worldwide surgical portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute communications strategies that drive commercial excellence and launch preparedness for the Global Surgical Franchise.
• Lead global product launch announcements and create PR toolkits for regional use.
• Develop and disseminate core franchise narratives, ensuring consistent messaging across regions.
• Raise awareness of business milestones, clinical data and differentiators through external channels.
• Organize global surgical awareness events for customers and patients.
• Support Business Development & Licensing communications for acquisitions and integrations.
• Manage issue or crisis communications, coordinating with Corporate Communications, Investor Relations and regional teams.
• Collaborate with ESG, Investor Relations and other corporate functions to align messaging.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (e.g., high school + 18 years, Associate + 14 years, M.S. + 7 years, PhD + 6 years).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant communications experience, preferably in a global medical or pharmaceutical environment.
• Excellent written and verbal English proficiency.
