Director, Core Payments Communications

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a dynamic, strategic communications leader for consumer products, serving as communications partner to the Chief Consumer Product Officer and the broader consumer payments leadership team. The role will shape how Mastercard’s consumer payments innovations are understood by customers, partners, media and employees.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute integrated communications strategies that elevate the consumer product portfolio and reinforce Mastercard’s reputation for innovation and trust.
• Lead narrative development and storytelling for product launches, announcements, and market activations across credit, debit, prepaid, ESG and affluent offerings.
• Engage issuers, merchants, fintech partners and strategic customers through tailored messaging, executive briefings and experience‑center activations.
• Champion innovative content formats across earned, owned, social, digital and experiential channels, using data and cultural insights to inform strategy.
• Manage media relations, create press materials, and coach spokespeople while serving as a corporate spokesperson on consumer payments topics.
• Provide strategic counsel to senior product leaders, coordinate cross‑functional communications, and establish measurement frameworks to assess impact.

• Experienced executive communications practitioner with a track record of supporting senior business leaders.
• Deep curiosity about consumer behavior, innovation and the future of commerce.
• Creative, audience‑focused and willing to challenge conventional communications approaches.
• Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, highly visible environment with multiple senior stakeholders.
