Director, Accounting – Services Deal Desk

About the role

The Director, Accounting – Services Deal Desk leads the financial integrity of Mastercard's Services business, partnering with global finance teams and regional controllership. Reporting to the VP, Controller – Services & IMC, this senior position drives process improvements, revenue recognition, and internal controls across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with sales leads and finance partners to advise on accounting matters for customer revenue contracts originating from Salesforce Opportunity.
• Provide feedback on draft contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition, payment terms, and accounting treatment.
• Lead controllership representation for Salesforce process improvements and resolve issues with Sales and Delivery teams.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad‑hoc management reports, variance analysis, and executive presentations.
• Collaborate with regional controllers on global initiatives to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Identify and implement automated solutions to streamline processes and mitigate risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred.
• Proven experience as a trusted advisor on complex technical accounting matters, especially ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills with ability to influence senior management.
• Experience overseeing financial control design, process improvement initiatives, and managing complex accounting issues.
