About the role
The Dietary Manager II serves as the head of the Dietary Department for the Department of Veterans' Affairs in La Salle, Illinois, overseeing a comprehensive food service program and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Direct daily dietary operations, including nutrition, menu planning, food preparation, service, and storage.
- Supervise staff, conduct dietetic education and training for dietary and nursing personnel.
- Ensure all applicable regulations and standards are met or exceeded.
- Prepare Central Management surveys and procurement documents for food, beverages, supplies, and equipment.
- Perform other duties within the scope of the department head role as required.
Required profile
- Four years of college education with coursework in dietetics.
- At least two years of professional experience in a large‑scale food service environment.
