Diesel Mechanic – 2nd Shift (2:00 pm‑12:30 am)

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic for its Tonawanda, NY Service Center. This full‑time, second‑shift position (2:00 pm‑12:30 am) focuses on maintaining a fleet of Class 8 trucks, trailers, and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and both minor and major repairs on diesel engines, Class 8 trucks, trailers, and forklifts.
• Maintain ancillary equipment such as overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and perform welding tasks as needed.

Required profile

• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience, preferably with Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Ability to lift 50 lb, own a complete set of tools, and hold a valid Class A CDL.

Required skills

• Diesel engine maintenance and preventive maintenance.
• AC and electrical system repair.
• Experience with Cummins and Detroit engine platforms.
• Proficiency using Cetaris work‑order software.
• Trailer preventative maintenance and repair.
• Welding skills.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License and experience driving Class 8 trucks.
