Diesel Mechanic – Full-Time 2nd Shift

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking experienced Diesel Mechanics for its Tonawanda, NY Service Center. This full‑time, second‑shift position (2:00 pm – 12:30 am, Monday‑Friday) offers a competitive hourly rate and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day maintenance on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and occasional forklifts.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and minor to major repairs on diesel engines.
• Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and perform welding as needed.
• Use Cetaris system to manage work orders and track maintenance activities.

Required profile

• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience, preferably with Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Ability to perform major engine repairs, AC and electrical work.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lb and possession of personal tools.
• Class A CDL holder with experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks.
