Diagnostic Radiology Technologist – Main Hospital

About the role

This position produces radiographic images for medical interpretation, interacting with healthcare staff, patients, families, and visitors throughout the main hospital. The technologist ensures accurate exams, high‑quality images, and compliance with safety standards while supervising others.

Key responsibilities

• Produce optimal X‑ray images for diagnostic interpretation and enter patient data into the Radiology Information System.
• Rotate through multiple modalities—including portable units, surgery suites, fluoroscopy, and the emergency department—performing exams and training new residents on fluoroscopic procedures.
• Perform quality‑assurance checks on images to maintain high standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, co‑workers, and physicians regarding procedures and findings.
• Engage in continuous education to learn new techniques and procedures.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by department leadership.

Required profile

• Graduated from a 2‑year certificate program certified by the ASRT in Radiology Technology.
• Registered or eligible for registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Licensed or eligible for a Radiology Technology license in the State of Arkansas.
• Current CPR certification.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Radiology Information System (RIS) software.
• Operation of X‑ray imaging equipment across various modalities.
• Fluoroscopy technique and safety protocols.
