Development Director

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a Development Director to lead fundraising, advocacy, and external engagement across its Georgia and Florida offices. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will shape and execute a multi‑office development strategy that expands donor support and advances IRC’s humanitarian mission.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing resource development team in Georgia and Florida.
• Build, steward, and grow relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
• Design and implement fundraising strategies, including major gifts, pipeline development, proposals, renewals, and special campaigns.
• Partner with program and executive leadership to align fundraising priorities with organizational goals.
• Represent IRC externally through community engagement, donor cultivation, advocacy, events, and public‑facing communications.
• Collaborate with headquarters and local communications teams to strengthen visibility and messaging.
• Leverage CRM and digital tools to enhance donor management, prospect research, and communications.

Required profile

• Proven record of senior‑level fundraising success, especially major gifts and donor stewardship.
• Strong leadership experience managing development teams across multiple locations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate mission into funding opportunities.
• Deep alignment with IRC’s humanitarian values and mission.
