Development Associate

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Division of Development and Alumni Relations seeks a full‑time Development Associate to support fundraising for Medical Development at UHealth/MSOM. Reporting to the Executive Director of Medical Development, the associate will help build and nurture donor relationships that advance the institution’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Implement a strategic plan to attract, retain, and grow mid‑level donors ($1,000‑$10,000 annual giving).
• Manage a portfolio of mid‑level prospects, conduct research, and identify potential major‑gift donors.
• Collaborate with philanthropic giving and digital engagement teams to source prospects from direct‑mail donors.
• Create and execute communication plans to engage and steward donors.
• Document all contacts, communications, visits, and proposals in i‑BIS and other donor records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum one year of relevant experience.
• Solution‑oriented, able to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral English with strong attention to detail.
• High level of discretion handling sensitive information.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
